ATMOS

We are preparing a new home weather station with an e‑ink display. It will sit calmly on a shelf or hang on the wall, and the weather on it will look as natural as if it had just been printed on paper – no backlight, no flicker, no glowing screen disturbing your bedroom or living room.
ATMOS combines the forecast from the Norwegian meteorological service met.no with its own indoor readings. In one clear view you will see the current outdoor temperature, the feels‑like temperature, a description of the conditions, wind and a weather icon. Below that comes a 24‑hour temperature and precipitation chart and a five‑day outlook with lows, highs and probability of rain. The station also shows sunrise and sunset, day length and the moon phase.
The other half of the screen is devoted to what is going on indoors. The built‑in BME280 sensor measures temperature, humidity and pressure. Each number comes with its trend, a short verbal description (“air is dry”, “pressure is falling fast”) and a brief, easy advice – when to ventilate, when to humidify, how to dress before going out.
The whole station is wireless and runs on a battery. Once set up, it wakes up once an hour during the day, pulls fresh data and goes back to sleep; at night it saves even more. Between wake‑ups ATMOS sleeps deeply, so a single charge typically lasts several months of normal use. If Wi‑Fi happens to be down, the station uses its last cached data and keeps serving you.
First start takes only a few minutes: connect your phone or laptop to the ATMOS Wi‑Fi network, open the simple page in your browser, choose a language, pick a city and your home Wi‑Fi. ATMOS will look up the coordinates and altitude on its own, and from that moment you can simply forget about it. No app, no account, no notifications – just relevant data that makes sense even from across the room.
Quiet at night
The e-ink display behaves like paper. No glow, no flicker — it will not wake anyone up in the bedroom.
No cables on the wall
ATMOS runs on a built-in battery. Just hang it up or place it on a shelf — no drilling for power.
Months on a single charge
Between updates the device sleeps deeply. A single charge typically lasts several months of normal use.
Just plug in to recharge
When the battery runs low, simply connect a USB-C cable. No service, no battery swaps.
