SOLAR STATION – smart e-ink hub for your PV system
SOLAR STATION is an intelligent monitoring centre for your photovoltaic system. It gives you instant access to detailed information about production, consumption, battery status and other key parameters. Thanks to the clear e-ink display the device is extremely energy-efficient and easy enough for anyone to use.
Every five minutes SOLAR STATION automatically pulls data from the cloud platforms of inverter manufacturers and displays them in an intuitive way. No complex logins or complicated charts – all important information is always at hand for you and your whole family, at home or in the office.

Supported platforms and portals
SOLAR STATION works directly with cloud services of inverter and battery manufacturers. You simply enter your login details for the relevant platform – no extra boxes, converters or cables needed.
Will it work with my system?
Just enter your login details for the relevant platform from the list above and SOLAR STATION connects instantly. For more complex installations, such as multiple inverters or monitoring accounts, you can also use shared installations – everything is configured directly in the station settings.
SOLAR STATION does not require any extra hardware modules (such as a MODBUS converter). You simply connect it via Wi-Fi and your inverter manufacturer’s cloud account.
Can I set it up myself?
After unboxing, simply press the RESET button briefly – the station wakes up for a few minutes and creates its own Wi-Fi network SolarStation…. When you connect to it, a setup wizard opens automatically. If not, just enter http://192.168.4.1 in your browser.
You choose your home Wi-Fi, enter the password and login details for your PV portal. The same configuration form can be opened later again via the address shown in the bottom status bar – you don’t need to search for a special network again.
Most users complete the full setup within a few minutes without having to tweak anything in the router.
What do you see on the display?
Every 5 minutes SOLAR STATION downloads the latest data from manufacturers’ clouds, checks them and composes a clear “dashboard” of your home energy flows. No endless clicking – everything you would otherwise search for in four different apps is on one screen.
- • Real-time energy overview – instant PV production, battery status and power flow between house, battery and grid.
- • Today’s summaries – how much you produced, consumed, stored in the battery and imported from or exported to the grid.
- • Spot prices and weather – day-ahead electricity prices and weather forecast including sunrise and sunset, so you know when the “solar peak” will be.
- • E-mobility – EV charging status, including Tesla support (battery state of charge, range and charging power via Tesla API data).
- • Thermal comfort at home – indoor temperature and DHW tank temperature from supported heat pumps, so you see where the energy really goes.
The layout is fully dynamic – if a certain value is not available (for example you don’t have an EV or heat pump), it simply disappears. The screen rearranges to stay maximally readable, without empty tiles.
What is e-ink?
An e-ink display works with microcapsules containing charged particles in two colours (typically black and white). An electric field pulls these particles to the surface or hides them – creating an image that looks and behaves very much like paper.
The image is “redrawn” only when SOLAR STATION loads new data (typically every 5 minutes). Between refreshes, the display consumes practically no energy – the image remains visible even without power.
Thanks to this, the display is:
- perfectly readable in direct sunlight,
- non-intrusive at night (it does not emit light),
- extremely efficient – ideal for a 24/7 device.
In SOLAR STATION, e-ink is used in a way that makes its slower refresh completely irrelevant, while maximising its benefits: calm, paper-like image, very low consumption and zero noise or flicker.
How long does one charge last?
In normal operation, SOLAR STATION spends most of its time “asleep” – it only wakes every 5 minutes, downloads data from the cloud, refreshes the display and goes back to sleep. This way it lasts roughly 6–12 weeks on a single charge, depending on the number of active tiles and functions.
The device is powered by a LiPo battery (2500 mAh, 3.7 V) charged via USB-C. A full charge takes a few hours (the cable is not included – we assume you already have one at home).
SOLAR STATION can also be powered permanently via cable. In that case it’s usually better to place it on a stand or shelf than to stick it permanently to the wall.
Which languages are supported?
The configuration interface is in English because it matches the terminology used in manufacturers’ cloud portals. The display itself, however, supports Czech, English, German and Polish – especially for calendar elements and basic labels.
Most of the screen is taken up by values, icons and graphs, which makes SOLAR STATION “language-light” and easy to understand for the whole family.
Spot electricity prices
SOLAR STATION can also work with spot electricity prices. In settings you select your provider and country (for example OTE CZ (CZK/kWh) for the Czech Republic) and the station automatically downloads the daily price curve.
In the tile you can see:
- the current electricity price,
- an overview of the cheapest and most expensive hours of the day,
- a chart of price development throughout the day.
In advanced settings you can include VAT and other fees using a simple offset + multiplier model so that the price displayed on the screen matches your real tariff (peak/off-peak).
The same data are then used by SOLAR STATION for automation:
- switching SOLAR PLUG only in the N cheapest hours of the day,
- switching based on price being below a set limit,
- controlling batteries and exports (charging in cheap hours, discharging or selling in expensive hours).
This lets you use SOLAR PLUG and the EcoVolter wallbox not only based on sunshine, but also on how the electricity market behaves.
SOLAR PLUG – smart sockets in the service of your PV
SOLAR PLUG are smart sockets that SOLAR STATION automatically discovers and pairs with. After plugging the socket into the mains and briefly pressing the RESET button on the station, the socket appears as a new load tile within about a minute.
The station monitors the energy balance of your home and, based on internal rules, switches sockets on and off so that PV energy is used as much as possible and feed-in to the grid is minimised. Typical loads are a boiler, air-conditioning, dryer, pool heating or other “shiftable” appliances.
- rules are evaluated every 5 minutes,
- you can switch based on excess power, PV output or battery state of charge,
- or based on spot prices – only during the cheapest hours of the day or below a price limit,
- when switched on manually with the button, the socket goes into manual mode; after switching off it returns to automation.
The internal logic takes into account a minimum ON time (several minutes) so that sockets don’t “chatter” around threshold power levels. This keeps behaviour stable while still reacting to weather and consumption changes.
EcoVolter Pro – smart EV charging
The portable wallbox EcoVolter Pro (1st and 2nd generation) is fully compatible with SOLAR STATION. The station can show it as a separate tile with a charging cable and work with the current charging power values.
The first generation EcoVolter connects via an API key from iXManager and the wallbox serial number. For the second generation it is enough that both the wallbox and SOLAR STATION are on the same Wi-Fi and you enter the serial number in the format REVC… – the station will find the wallbox automatically.
Control of the wallbox is not a “black box”, but a set of clearly defined rules evaluated every 5 minutes – similar to SOLAR PLUG. You can for example:
- start charging only after reaching a certain battery SOC,
- charge when excess power exceeds a set threshold,
- charge when PV production is high enough,
- charge only in the N cheapest hours of the day based on spot prices,
- charge if the price is below a set limit.
SOLAR STATION continuously adjusts charging power according to whether the chosen rules are met – if there is “room”, it gradually increases the power, if energy becomes scarce, it decreases it, and in the extreme case it stops charging completely. Everything is transparent and predictable, without hidden algorithms.
This means you don’t charge your EV “whenever”, but at moments that make the most sense both energetically and economically – either from your roof, or in the cheapest spot price windows.
Customer reviews
Ratings from selected SOLAR STATION users“Finally something even my wife understands.”
I used to track my PV only in the manufacturer’s app, but this is a whole different level. In the morning I just look at the wall and instantly see how we’re doing with production, battery state and whether it makes sense to run the washing machine.
Perfect overview in one place
We have PV, a battery, a heat pump and an EV. SOLAR STATION ties it all together and shows it on one screen. I also love the e-ink – it doesn’t glare, but is super readable even in sunlight.
Ideal for the utility room wall
I used to keep logging into various portals, now I just open the utility room door and see how much we’re producing and whether anything is flowing into the grid. Setup is easy even for non-IT people. Only downside – my wife now wants a second one in the kitchen.

What’s inside?
The core of the device is a powerful ESP32 microcontroller and a high-quality e-ink display from GoodDisplay. Power management, cloud communication and rule logic all run directly on this unit – no need for an extra server at home.
The enclosure is 3D-printed from white PLA, with custom tweaks available on request. Everything is designed so that the station can run quietly and unobtrusively for years without intervention.
What if an API changes?
Inverter manufacturers occasionally change their cloud services. To make sure SOLAR STATION is not a “disposable toy”, it includes a built-in firmware update mechanism. When a change is needed, we release a new version and the station can download it by itself.
In practice this means that when an API changes, you don’t need to buy new hardware – just let the device update. You’re investing into a platform, not a single-use gadget.
What’s in the box?
The box contains SOLAR STATION, two wall mounts with 3M tape and a stand. We don’t include a printed manual – the latest guides, tips and solutions to common issues (Wi-Fi error, Cloud error, etc.) are always available on our website.
This way you always work with up-to-date information matching the current firmware version.
What are the dimensions?
152 × 121 × 14 mm (5.83″)
196 × 131 × 14 mm (7.5″)
248 × 177 × 14 mm (10″)
Which variant should I choose?
The smaller model is perfect for a shelf or desk; the larger versions are ideal for the wall – easy to read from a distance in a utility room or living area.
What about the warranty?
We provide a 2-year warranty for this product, covering manufacturing defects and ensuring trouble-free operation. SOLAR STATION is produced in small batches under personal supervision. If you’re not satisfied, we’ll refund your money without unnecessary questions.
Let the sun shine!
Why don’t I have SOLAR STATION at home yet?
You have PV, a battery and maybe an EV – but still no single place where you can see what is happening in your home energy system. SOLAR STATION shows you everything just a few seconds after you plug it in.
One glance at the wall and you know whether you’re running on sunshine, battery or grid. No apps, no logins, no lengthy configuration.
